Zimmerer Takes Charge at the Texas Motorplex!

Keith Zimmerer burst onto the OFAA scene at the end of 2020 and immediately the competition took notice. It was only a matter of time before this new team would prove to be a significant threat. It all lined up for Zimmerer and team "Penny Pincher" at the Texas Motorplex on a special Patriot Day edition of racing honoring first responders on September 11th. Upon completion of two qualifying rounds, Zimmerer sat atop the ladder and on paper was the car to beat heading into eliminations.
A big first round win over Bobby Marriott paired with a 3.82 elapsed time scored Zimmerer and company a date in the final round with Jimmy Jones who also won his round with a 3.82 elapsed time. It was a battle of blown alcohol heavy weights in the last dance of the night as Jones blasted off the line with a slight advantage. Side by side they charged and at the stripe it was Jones going just under the index with a 3.797 and Zimmerer got the win light with a extremely close 3.809 at 195.58 mph. Congratulations to team "Penny Pincher" on their first career OFAA event win and by maximizing their points earning potential, Keith Zimmerer will lead the standings for the 25th Anniversary OFAA Championship heading into the World Finals at Alamo City Motorplex in San Antonio, October 1st-2nd!
